title: kaviaar & korenwolven
it's not only drones and heavy ambient the dutch [law-rah] collective produces. recent explorations included beats, trip-hop and songs structures and on 'kaviaar & korenwolven' (tr: caviar & hamsters) the experiments continue. various approaches on the origin of sounds are combined with different compositional adaptation, for example cut-up techniques.
the title refers to two animals that have been reintroduced in the dutch fauna, as they originally were part of it but 'human progress' ended that. because 'human progress' - through means of cd's, computers, digital media, internet, p2p constructions, piracy, etc - made cassettes 'redundant', lage landen lawaai reintroduces the concept of the rarely seen 'tape' back in the dutch musical underground.
